How SortMyCover works and how it makes money

Written by the SortMyCover editorial team. Updated 2 October 2026.

SortMyCover helps people talk to a licensed adviser about their cover. This page explains how it works, who is behind it and how it makes money.

How it works

A person learns about the cover gap and, if they want, asks for a call. We then connect them with an authorised financial services provider and help book a free 30-minute call, booked for a time that suits. The adviser gives the advice. We do not.

How we make money

Advisers pay SortMyCover a flat fee for each 30-day cycle. The fee is the same whether or not anyone buys a product. We never take commission. We never take a share of anyone's premium. The person who asks for a call pays nothing. The full detail is on how we make money.

Who is behind it

SortMyCover is a South African service. The privacy notice names the company that is legally responsible for personal details. See also about us.

How details are handled

Details are only used after a person agrees, and only to arrange the call. The privacy page explains how details are kept and removed. Questions about a complaint go through the complaints page.
